Will Smith begins pimping his kids blatantly

Hold onto your headbands Miyagi fans, this one’s going to hurt. Columbia Pictures is preparing to remake The Karate Kid, with Jaden Smith in the lead role. Will Smith’s kid is going to replaced Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid. The kid from Pursuit of Happyness is going to fight Cobra Kai. Nope, no matter how you put it, it still sounds like shit.
I’m not sure who, outside of the Smith family, thinks this is a good idea. I like Will Smith a lot. I liked Pursuit of Happyness, and thought Jaden was fine. So my problem isn’t necessarily with him. It’s more with the entire concept.
The original is a timeless classic which is every bit as watchable today as it was in 1984. Its message still stands today. It’s not like bullies have disappeared, or that hard work and discipline are have become unnecessary. In other words, THERE IS NO REASON TO REMAKE THIS MOVIE.

Thanksgiving

I woke up today and saw a cloud over the Brownstone I am staying in then for a brief second the sun peaked into the New York Sky, I smiled then I prayed. I asked God to be a blessing to all those in Pasadena who need one, I asked God to give peace to those who were restless, understanding to those who are confused.

I asked God that he would reveal to us the blessings that surround our lives that we might live lives full of great fullness. Most of all I thanked God I thanked god for insight, opportunity and for every gift that I have received because this thanksgiving I am celebrating the life God gave me.

So as you all go out and prepare you meals, spend time with your family, watch the game, take two seconds to thank God for his grace, kindness and blessings. Also if you would like to be a blessing to someone else please check the list below of places you can serve food and make someones thanksgiving that much better.

For over 30 years, Union Station Homeless Services has sponsored annual Dinners-in-the-Park on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Held in Pasadena's Central Park, these events bring together thousands of volunteers to serve a hearty meal and holiday cheer to less fortunate community members.

Last year we served 8.500 meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas to people who were homeless, senior citizens, alone at the holidays, or unable to afford a holiday meal.

Help make this holiday season special by volunteering or donating food or toys for our events. For more information, please call 626.240.4550 x542.

Home for the Holidays

I am in Harlem this week getting ready for Thanksgiving. I know that I said that I am back to my original format then fell off the face of the earth. I guess it is a good thing when people get help for their problem but I thought you had to be a certain age to be in AA. I am hearing word that many of our peers have been checking into the meetings lately. DUI season is upon us boys and girls so please do not drink and drive. I believe a DUI is a felony and carries the possibility of a sentence, so if you sip don't dip chill for a minute and sober up you don't want to have to join Bad News the snowflake sniffing rapper in rehab or his bro Mike Montano in AA.

So I have been skating for almost 15 years and when Muska (chad muska) came out endorsing the first pair of supras people couldn't have cared less. Now that weezy wayne has been rocking these it seems supras are the kicks de jour of the hood. I guess that is the nature of marketing though if you get your product on someone who is hot people will buy it. All I am saying is people are acting like supras are new.

Come on man!

What's good Dena Land? I guess some would say my post have gone a little watered over the last few weeks and yes I agree. Have not fear I am back from my little hiatus of only posting stuff about shoes and music although the music will keep coming I am going back to my original format.

A few updates we are now officially hitting 1000 hits a day so I think despite what many of you say someone out there likes this blog. Thank you all for the support and remember I do this for my people . In parting I would like to leave you with a quip that has been giving me peace.

Google is now hosting over 10 milion "Life" pictures

Largely unpublished, about 10 million images from the Life photo archives are being made available online for free — from 1750 to the present. You all have to thank Google for this.

Gallardo LP 560-4

Revealing the Gallardo LP 560-4 early this year, famous Italian supercar maker Lamborghini introduce their convertible version, which will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show today. The Gallardo’s engine was given a 40 hp upgrade from the previous model boasting a 5.2 liter V10 delivering 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque to all four wheels. With a 40% quicker sports shift, the clunky shifting of its precessesor has been eliminated allowing smoothing and faster transition between gears, which will help reach its top speed of its top speed of 324 km/h, with top up or down according to the automaker. Another new feature is the 20 second roof retractor, for those on the run.

These weren't that tight when they dropped in '96, but in order for Fila to stay above water and compete they deiced to bring these back.

An iconic basketball shoe is coming back this week - the Fila 96 Grant Hill. The people from The Reed Space were allowed to play around with it a little and added some flavor to the sneaker. It comes in an OG white/navy version, NY Knicks orange/blue colorway and a CMYK colorway. On the side panel the sneakers feature a “Reed 96″ print and the Reed Space chair logo is featured on the heel. The OG colorway is limited to only 36 pairs worldwide.

The Reed Space will be exclusively releasing it on November 21rst.

iPhone users will soon be able to take advantage of yet another piece of ingenuity from Google, with the latter’s Searching by Voice feature developed for the iPhone. This updated version of the Google Mobile application will be released in the near future, allowing users to speak their search queries and let Google to the trawling automatically.No idea just how accurate the speech recognition capability is, but hopefully it won’t affect non-native English speaking people too adversely. This system is still being perfected though, so do expect to receive rubbish return queries at times.
