
LOS ANGELES - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority more than doubled the maximum amount of funding earmarked for the Metro Gold Line if a proposed half-cent sales tax increase is approved by voters in November.
The MTA's new project list, which allocates money for rail, bus and highway projects countywide, recommends $735 million for the Gold Line project if the tax is passed - up from $328 million in previous reports.
