What the picture is really about



Nike has tapped Kanye West to headline the Nike+ human race on August 31st, 2008. The event will take place at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, after thousands of runners cross the finish line.

Nike's Human Race project aims to marry sport and music in order to inspire runners from all across the globe. The 10K race will be held in 25 cities across the world to promotes fitness, health and global unity. Participating cities include: New York, London, Madrid, Paris, and Vancouver. Los Angeles will be the last city to host its race, starting at 8:31:08 pm.

"I'm hitting the stage in Los Angeles for the Nike+ Human Race, Nike's dopest 10k run ever," said Kanye West in a press release. "This race is bringing together hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world to run and listen to great music while serving a higher cause, and I'm excited to perform in L.A. as part of the grand finale."

Other confirmed performers include rock band All-American Rejects in New York; Fall Out Boy in Chicago; Moby in London; Kelly Rowland in Paris; The Pinker Tones in Madrid, Kenan Dogulu in Istanbul; the Fantastic Four in Munich; Beijing-based singing duo Yu Quan in Shanghai and American rockers Boy Likes Girl in Singapore.
